PHS Boys Soccer Coach Named

Pewaukee High School Athletic and Activities Director John Maltsch announced today that Pewaukee High School English teacher and Literacy Coach Dave Zindler is taking on the coaching position for boys varsity soccer.  Former coach Randy Staus recently vacated the position after 20 years to spend more time with his family.

Zindler has coached for Waukesha West High School’s girls and/or boys varsity teams for 24 years. He started the boys and girls soccer program at Waukesha West in 1993. Zindler will continue to coach the girls varsity soccer team at Waukesha West High School.

Here are stats from Zindler’s coaching career at Waukesha West High School:

  • Boys' Varsity Coach for 10 years from 1993-2002.
    • 2 Conference Championships
    • 5 appearances in Sectional Finals
    • 1 trip to WIAA State Tournament in 2002 -- Team finished season with a 24-0-2 record, not advancing out of State Quarterfinals due to penalty kicks
  • Girls' Varsity Coach for 24 years from 1993-current
    • won 5 of the past 6 Classic Eight Championships, including last three in a row
    • won 7 Classic Eight Conference Championships total
    • 13 appearances in Sectional Finals
    • 10 trips to the WIAA State Tournament, including 9 of the past 10 seasons.
